Dae Jang Geum helped promote the Korean food in Thailand.

The increasing popularity of Korean food in the Thai market, partly fuelled by the current hot-hit TV drama Dae Jang Geum, has inspired Patcharawan Boonnamsap, an apparel businesswoman to draft a plan for entering the food business in near future. Mrs Patcharawan, the executive director of Cassardi International Co, distributor of brand name fashion products and owned by her father veteran textile entrepreneur Boonnam Boonnamsap, said the company was negotiating with a Korean partner to open the first Korean-Japanese coffee and bakery chain in Thailand.
