The remarkable success of the Korean historical soap “Daejanggeum (A Jewel in the Palace)” in Hong Kong last year has prompted calls there for the story to be written up for elementary school textbooks.

The Takungpao daily's online edition said Tuesday, "It has now been one year since the end of ‘Daejanggeum’, but the education authorities have still not issued a decision on the inclusion of the 'Janggeum spirit' in school textbooks." (link)
