If you are watching last night's episode, Jang Geum requested Lady Han to excuse her from the class to find out what really is the cause of the Prince's suffering in order to clear the name of his adopted father who was accused of attempting to kill the prince by putting poison on the food he prepared for the prince.

The head doctor of course knew the cause of the paralysis that the prince had experienced. What had happened is actually part of the plan of Lady Choi in assassinating the Prince and the head doctor is actually involved here.

The smartness, courage and determination of Jang Geum has lead her to discover that it was the Gensing and the oil had caused the paralysis. No one can oppose her about it since she had tested it on herself.
