Because of her desire to help Lady Han and Madam Jung on their struggle against those who abuse their power, Jang Geum has forgotten the very principle that Lady Han taught her. It was shown when she prepared a soup by mixing it with milk.

It is true that the soup will taste better by mixing it with milk. But it is not right to do it because they were told to prepare a food which poor citizens eat.

So, what Jang Geum did only showed her weakness, that is her pride. Jang Geum has the ability that other servant didn’t have it. And because of this ability she forgot to be humble.

Humbleness is the only thing that a real Palace Servant should have. It is the only weapon against evil desire.
